NYX Eyeshadow Base

NYX Eyeshadow Base

Don’t you hate it when your carefully applied eyeshadow disappears after a few hours? Or, equally annoying, when the whole lot starts to crease?

One solution is to put foundation on your eyelids, to make it last longer, but unfortunately, this won’t work for everyone. The skin of the eyelids is thinner than the rest of your face, so irritants that are fine elsewhere, might make your peepers watery and itchy.

A solution comes in the form of eye primers, which  are specifically designed to keep your eye make up in place. I’ve been testing “NYX eyehadow base” for a while now, and am moderately enthusiastic about the results.

The pro’s: it holds up throughout the day, so the job is done. No irritation whatsoever for me, so feels risk free for sensitive skin. It applies quite easily, although I dislike the fact that you need to rub quite a bit to get it in (but that’s me, I ‘m not too fond of tugging and pulling in that area).

The con’s: it comes in a pot, not a tube. For an eye product, that’s BAD in my book. Think of all the germs that will invade the container when you put your finger in it, then multiply and land  on your eyes a next time. Using  a q-tip might help, but it’s just unnecessarily complicated.

4 stars.
